Terrorist groups in Afghanistan threaten global stability: SCO report

Kabul/Moscow  (Web Desk): International bodies have expressed growing concern over the active terrorist networks in Afghanistan, warning that these groups pose a significant threat to regional peace and stability.

According to media reports, officials from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) have supported Pakistan's stance, raising alarms about the increasing activity of terrorist groups in Afghanistan.

SCO Chairman, Olorabek Sharshiev, stated that the operations of international terrorist groups have escalated in both Afghanistan and Syria. These groups are expanding their reach to carry out attacks, establish sleeper cells, and raise funds. He also mentioned that these groups are using fake documents from third countries to further their activities in Afghanistan.

Eugene Sasyf, head of the Counter-Terrorism Organization of Independent States, pointed out that terrorist groups are increasing their movements in Afghanistan to extend their regional influence.

The report highlighted that the growing threat from terrorist groups in Afghanistan further strengthens Pakistan's position on the issue.
