Field Marshal, Libyan Commander review matters of mutual interest

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, met with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

The two military leaders held detailed discussions on issues of shared interest, including the evolving regional security environment, defence relations, and opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the armed forces of both countries.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening defence collaboration and enhancing partnerships in military training, professional exchanges, and security-related fields.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated the Pakistan Army’s dedication to fostering regional peace, stability, and constructive cooperation with friendly nations.

Lieutenant General Haftar praised the professionalism and operational capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces, while also acknowledging their role in promoting peace and security across the region.

Earlier, upon his arrival at General Headquarters, the Libyan military official was welcomed with a Guard of Honour presented by a smartly turned-out contingent comprising personnel from Pakistan’s three armed services.
