Iran-Israel ceasefire 'now in effect', confirms US President Trump 

Washington (Web Desk/Agencies): US President Donald Trump has announced that a ceasefire between Israel and Iran is currently active. In a message posted on Truth Social, he emphasized in capital letters, “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!”

This confirmation came shortly after Iran launched several missiles, resulting in the deaths of four individuals in the Israeli city of Beersheba, according to the country’s national emergency medical service.

Trump had earlier introduced a full ceasefire plan aimed at ending the twelve-day conflict, while indicating that both nations would be permitted to carry out their existing operations before the ceasefire would be fully enforced.

Despite this declaration, reports of explosions near Tel Aviv and Beersheba emerged not long before his statement, casting uncertainty over how quickly the truce would take hold.
Iran’s SNN news outlet reported that Tehran had launched its final set of missiles just moments before the ceasefire was initiated.

Speaking on the situation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi commented that Iran would only halt its military retaliation if Israel ceased what he termed its “illegal aggression” against the Iranian people.

He further noted that the ultimate decision to stop military operations would be made at a later time.

A senior official from the White House stated that the ceasefire agreement was arranged following a phone conversation between President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Israel agreed to the proposal on the condition that Iran refrain from any further attacks.

Trump commended both nations for demonstrating the “Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence” required to bring an end to what he referred to as “THE 12 DAY WAR.”

Following this, Netanyahu’s office released a statement confirming Israel's acceptance of the ceasefire plan put forward by Trump.

According to the statement, Israel had achieved its primary objective of neutralizing the threats posed by Iran’s missile and nuclear capabilities, and expressed gratitude to the United States for its backing.

Netanyahu also issued a warning, stating that any breach of the agreement would be met with a powerful reaction.

This ceasefire follows a period of escalating violence, during which Israel and the US launched strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, accusing that Tehran was approaching the capability to develop nuclear arms—a claim Iran continues to reject.

However, Iran’s Supreme Leader has cautioned that if the country ever opted to pursue nuclear weapons, “no one could stop them.”
