Schools across Punjab reopen after summer break

Lahore (Web Desk): After the conclusion of the summer vacations, all public and private schools across Punjab reopened on Monday, marking the resumption of regular academic activities across the province.

The reopening brought back the usual bustle to educational institutions after the extended break, with students returning to their schools with enthusiasm. Teachers also welcomed the children warmly as classrooms once again filled with activity.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat welcomed students returning to school after the holidays and said educational institutions across the province would operate from Monday to Friday according to the schedule issued by the government.

Under the notified timetable, schools will begin classes at 8am and continue until 1:30pm.

The minister said educational institutions would follow the prescribed timings and arrange their academic schedules accordingly.

Rana Sikandar Hayat said the educational journey would now move forward with renewed energy from where it had been interrupted.

He urged teachers to play an active role in helping students whose education had been disrupted for any reason and ensure that they regain continuity in their studies.

Rana Sikandar Hayat said that preventing a further rise in the number of out-of-school children remained a major challenge.

He stressed that bringing every child into the education system was a shared responsibility of the government, teachers and parents.

The Punjab education minister added that consultations were also under way to formulate new strategies aimed at preventing educational setbacks in the future and ensuring that children remain connected to their studies.
