At least 15 terrorists killed, cop martyred in Bannu operation: Police

Bannu (Web Desk): A major intelligence-led operation conducted jointly by the police and the Counter Terrorism Department in Bannu resulted in the killing of at least 15 terrorists, while more than 10 others were injured, the Central Police Office confirmed on Saturday.

During the clash, one police officer was martyred and another sustained injuries before being moved to a hospital for treatment.

The operation took place in the limits of Thana Miryan in Bannu, where security personnel also discovered a 10-kilogram improvised explosive device (IED). The bomb was successfully defused on the spot, preventing any potential destruction.

Officials said the action was launched in the early hours of the morning, with law enforcement agencies making use of modern drones and advanced surveillance equipment to closely observe the movement of militants throughout the raid.
