PM Shehbaz reiterates unwavering support for Saudi Arabia

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm commitment to the security, sovereignty, territorial integrity and continued prosperity of Saudi Arabia during a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

During the cordial exchange, the prime minister strongly denounced the recent attacks by the Houthi militia on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, describing the assaults as reprehensible and entirely unacceptable.

He said the attacks amounted to a serious breach of international law, endangered freedom of navigation and commercial shipping, and posed a direct threat to regional peace, security and stability.

Reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom, Shehbaz Sharif said he, together with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the people of Pakistan, stood shoulder to shoulder with the Saudi leadership and its citizens during this critical period.

The prime minister assured Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that Pakistan would continue to work in close coordination with Saudi Arabia and the international community to promote peace, safeguard regional security and stability, and ensure the uninterrupted movement of lawful maritime trade through the Red Sea, the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters.

Taking the opportunity, Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

In his remarks, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman thanked Pakistan for its consistent support and praised the enduring fraternal relationship shared by the two countries.
