Karachi court sends Anmol alias Pinky on 14-day judicial remand in multiple cases

Karachi (Web Desk): A Karachi court on Friday sent alleged drug trafficker Anmol alias Pinky to jail on a 14-day judicial remand in multiple narcotics-related cases along with a murder charge.

Police officials said the accused was brought before the Judicial Complex established inside Karachi Central Jail under strict security measures.

Investigators from the Darakhshan, Gizri, and Baghdadi police stations were also present during the court proceedings.

During the hearing, the investigation officers informed the court that the inquiry was moving forward and that additional evidence was being collected in relation to the cases registered against the suspect.

They also sought an extension of physical remand, arguing that further interrogation was required to complete the investigation.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court turned down the request for physical custody and instead placed the accused on judicial remand. The court further instructed the police to submit challans in all cases without delay.

According to police, the suspect was produced in connection with 18 different cases involving allegations of narcotics trafficking and murder.

Officials added that Anmol had been arrested earlier this month in Karachi in two cases linked to drug possession and an illegal weapon, and she had already been nominated in several other criminal cases prior to her arrest, taking the total number of pending cases against her to more than a dozen.
