UK not Iinvolved in US strikes on Iran, focused on de-escalation: PM Keir Starmer

London (Web Desk): British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated that the United Kingdom was not involved in the recent U.S. military strikes on Iran. He emphasized that the UK’s priority is to help reduce tensions in the Middle East.

Speaking to British media, Starmer said Iran must return to the negotiating table, as its nuclear program poses a serious threat to global security.

“The United States acted to reduce that threat,” he said, adding that Iran should never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.

The remarks come after U.S. forces carried out airstrikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. According to U.S. media, six B-2 bombers dropped twelve bunker-buster bombs on the Fordow nuclear site, while thirty Tomahawk missiles were used in strikes on other locations.

Iran's Atomic Energy Organization has confirmed the attacks. The international community has largely condemned the U.S. action, warning it could further destabilize the region.
