Westerly wind system brings rain in several parts of Pakistan, snowfall in mountainous areas

Lahore  (Web Desk): A new system of western winds has entered Pakistan, bringing with it strong winds, rain, and thunderstorms across various regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan.

The heavy rainfall has been accompanied by thunder and lightning in several areas, while snowfall in the mountainous regions has further intensified the cold weather.

In Lahore, as well as several other cities in Punjab, the rain continued intermittently throughout the day. In some places, hailstorms were also reported, making the weather even more unpredictable. The ongoing rain, combined with the cold winds, has made the atmosphere pleasant yet significantly colder.

This change in the weather has affected daily activities, with people adjusting to the chilly conditions. The cold has caused a noticeable drop in temperatures, particularly in the northern areas and higher altitudes, where the snow has created a winter-like environment.

The The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned of continued rainfall and chilly conditions over the next few days, urging people to stay prepared for the potential disruptions to daily life, especially in areas prone to flooding or snowfall.
