Naqvi meets Iranian FM Araghchi as Pakistan steps up diplomatic efforts to hasten US-Iran peace talks

Tehran (Web Desk): Pakistan has significantly accelerated its diplomatic engagement aimed at facilitating communication and mediation between Iran and the United States (US), with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arriving in Tehran for his second urgent and high-level visit within a single week.

During the visit, he held detailed meeting with the Iranian civil and military leaders amid ongoing regional tensions and renewed diplomatic activity.

According to diplomatic sources, in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi the discussion focused on the prospects of a lasting US-Iran ceasefire, the possible revival of diplomatic negotiations, and the broader security situation in the Middle East.

The discussions also reviewed efforts aimed at reducing tensions and preventing further instability in the region.

The sources said Mohsin Naqvi’s latest visit forms part of Pakistan’s broader diplomatic initiative to support sustainable peace in the region by helping maintain indirect channels of communication between Tehran and Washington.

During the meeting, both sides agreed on the importance of preventing the region from slipping into a larger crisis while also reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran.
