Afghanistan on economic brink as incompetent Taliban regime neglects development projects

Kabul (Web Desk): Afghanistan is facing a deepening economic and social crisis as the Taliban-led administration continues to struggle with governance.

A report published by Afghanistan International, citing official budget figures, shows that public development projects have been largely neglected by the authorities.

Even as the country grapples with a prolonged financial downturn, around 88 percent of state expenditures have been allocated to non-developmental areas.

The report further highlights that vital economic and social sectors have been pushed aside, indicating that they no longer feature among the regime’s priorities.
