On World Children's Day, PM Shehbaz reaffirms Pakistan's commitment to child rights, education

Islamabad (Web Desk): On World Children’s Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, protection, and education of its children.

In his message for the day, the premier drew attention to this year’s theme, “My Day, My Rights,” emphasizing the need to recognize and uphold the rights of children both individually and collectively, at national and global levels.

PM Shehbaz highlighted that the future of any nation is intricately linked to the well-being and development of its youngest citizens.

He stressed that cooperation between states is essential to promoting child welfare and pointed out that mental and physical development, safety, and quality education form the foundation of children’s rights.

The premier urged a comprehensive approach to child protection, emphasizing the importance of strategies designed to secure these rights while preventing violence and abuse against children.

He noted that safeguarding children from harm remains a top priority for the government.

PM Shehbaz outlined ongoing efforts to provide educational opportunities to talented children across the country, describing the progress of the Daanish School Project as commendable.

He also highlighted the critical role of BISP’s child nutrition programs and educational stipends in supporting vulnerable children.

Acknowledging that more work remains, he stressed the need for better coordination and a stronger nationwide strategy to advance children’s rights.

PM Shehbaz called on families, communities, and all levels of government to work together to foster positive social values and secure a peaceful and prosperous future for the next generation.

He also emphasized that providing modern, technology-focused education is a responsibility of the state, pointing to the ongoing educational emergency aimed at enrolling all out-of-school children.

The prime minister further highlighted the importance of scholarships, healthcare facilities, and skill-development centers as key elements of comprehensive child welfare.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to collaboration, PM Shehbaz stated that the government will continue to work with provincial authorities and international partners to ensure that every child in the country has access to the best possible opportunities.
