Malaysian interior minister visits Pakistan Monument and Islamabad Police Lines

Islamabad (Web Desk): Malaysian Interior Minister Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, visited the Pakistan Monument and Islamabad Police Lines on Thursday during his official visit to Pakistan.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary accompanied the honourable guest.

The Malaysian interior minister was received at the Pakistan Monument by a contingent of the Federal Constabulary, which accorded him a formal guard of honour upon his arrival.

The visit highlighted the two countries’ shared interest in enhancing cooperation and mutual understanding, particularly in matters relating to security and public service.

During his visit to the monument, Saifuddin Nasution paid his respects at the Martyrs’ Memorial. He placed a floral wreath at the memorial and offered prayers in honour of security personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

The Malaysian minister recognised the services and sacrifices of the fallen personnel and paid tribute to their dedication to protecting the nation.

Officials accompanying him also briefed Saifuddin Nasution about the historical background and national significance of the Pakistan Monument.

They explained the symbolism reflected in its design and highlighted its role in representing Pakistan’s heritage, identity and important chapters of its history.

The Malaysian minister acknowledged the significance of the landmark and appreciated its importance in preserving the country’s national heritage and collective memory.

The visit later continued at Islamabad Police Lines, where a special parade was organised in the Malaysian minister’s honour.

A selected contingent of Islamabad Police presented a ceremonial salute, while the national anthems of Pakistan and Malaysia were played as part of the proceedings.

Saifuddin Nasution inspected the parade and reviewed the performance and presentation of the police personnel. He praised the officers and officials for demonstrating professionalism, discipline and commitment to their responsibilities.

In recognition of their services and dedication, the Malaysian minister presented awards to members of the Islamabad Police for their outstanding performance and devotion to duty.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Inspector General of Federal Constabulary Riaz Nazir Gara, Inspector General of Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad Police and other senior police officers.
