Pakistan, EU agree to further boost cooperation across key sectors

Brussels (Web Desk): Pakistan and the European Union (EU) have decided to keep working closely to push forward shared goals and strengthen cooperation across key sectors.
The understanding came during a meeting in Brussels between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and President of the EU Council Antonio Costa.

During the meeting, both sides noted with satisfaction the positive trajectory of the Pakistan-EU relationship and agreed to further strengthen the mutually beneficial partnership across various domains.

Dar expressed gratitude for the EU’s consistent assistance to Pakistan, whether through bilateral engagement or at international forums.

The delegations also reviewed several matters of common interest, including the GSP Plus scheme, expanding trade and economic ties, and the latest developments in regional and global security.

Earlier on Wednesday, DPM/FM Dar arrived in Brussels on an official visit to participate in the 7th Session of Pakistan-EU Strategic Dialogue and the 4th EU-Indo Pacific Ministerial Forum to be held from 20-21 November.

“Upon arrival, the DPM/FM was received by Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, Ambassador of Pakistan to Belgium, Luxembourg and the EU Rahim Hayat Qureshi and officers from the Pakistan Embassy,” the  Foreign Office (FO), said in a statement.
