PM Shehbaz, European Council President António Costa discuss Mideast situation

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from President European Council António Costa on Monday.

During the cordial conversation, the two leaders exchanged views on the recent developments in the Middle East.

During the discussion, PM Shheabz provided an overview of Pakistan’s recent diplomatic initiatives, outlining the country’s continued outreach efforts and steps being taken to support peace and de-escalation in the region.

He shared the latest updates on Islamabad’s engagement with relevant stakeholders aimed at promoting stability and dialogue.

António Costa, in response, conveyed appreciation for Pakistan’s constructive approach and its consistent efforts to encourage peaceful solutions and regional calm.

He also reiterated that the European Union remains prepared to assist and support any initiatives that advance dialogue and stability.

Both leaders underlined that sustained diplomacy and open communication remain essential for achieving durable peace and security at both regional and global levels.

They concluded the conversation with a mutual understanding to stay in close contact going forward.
