At least 13 killed in Israeli strike on Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon

Beirut (Web Desk): In a violation of the existing ceasefire agreement, Israeli forces carried out an airstrike on the southern Lebanese city of Sidon, killing 13 people and injuring several others, Lebanese authorities reported.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the strike targeted an open sports ground used by refugees, where civilians were present at the time of the attack.

Israel claimed that the site was being used by members of Hamas who were allegedly preparing operations against Israeli targets.

Hamas, however, rejected Israel’s claims as baseless, asserting that the attack deliberately targeted innocent refugees.

The group condemned the strike as inhumane and a violation of international war laws.

This incident comes despite a ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Lebanon last year, underscoring the ongoing tensions in the region.

Earlier this month, Israeli forces had also conducted a drone strike on a vehicle in southern Lebanon, highlighting a continued pattern of cross-border hostilities.
