Info ministry rejects Afghan Taliban's claims of drone strikes in KP, Balochistan

Islamabad  (Web Desk): The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected claims made by the Afghan Taliban regime regarding alleged strikes on Daesh Khorasan targets in the border areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan using rudimentary drones, terming the statements false.

In an official statement, the ministry said that such claims are “false as usual,” and accused the Afghan Taliban authorities of issuing repeated propaganda through various channels and official statements.

It further stated that the Afghan Taliban regime has been claiming to have targeted Daesh Khorasan positions in border regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, but described these assertions as misleading.

The ministry alleged that terrorist camps, including those of Daesh and other groups, are actually located within territories under the control of the Afghan Taliban, and are operated and supported from there.

It added that, in order to conceal what it described as patronage of terrorist networks operating against neighbouring countries, including Daesh, Fitna al-Khawarij, and Fitna al-Hindustan, the Taliban regime issues such statements.

The statement also claimed that a rudimentary drone launched from the Afghan side intruded into Pakistani airspace near the Shinko area of Khyber, which was detected and neutralized by the Pakistan Air Force’s air defence system.
