26 Indian-sponsored terrorists killed in strikes on hideouts along Pak-Afghan border, says info minister

Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar on Wednesday said that Pakistan carried out precise and calibrated strikes on hideouts and safe havens of masterminds and planners belonging to Fitna al-Khwarij along Pakistan-Afghanistan border areas killing 26 Indian-sponsored terrorists.

In a post shared on X, the minister explained that the action was taken in response to a recent wave of terrorist incidents inside the country.

Tarar referred to the attack on a Federal Constabulary post in Musa Dara on June 9, 2026, the vehicle-borne suicide assault on a military installation in North Waziristan on June 2, 2026, and the attack on a police station in Bannu on May 9, 2026.

He said the strikes were conducted on the basis of verified intelligence and involved the selective and precise targeting of militant infrastructure and hideouts.

The minister said that four major sites were completely destroyed in the operation, including a training facility, a militant safe house, an ammunition storage point, and command centres associated with Fitna Al Khwarij commanders Aleem Khan Khushali and Akhtar Muhammad Jani Khel.

Tarar stressed that Pakistan has consistently pursued peace and stability in the region, while reiterating that the protection of its citizens remains the state’s highest priority.

He further stated that the counterterrorism campaign under the framework of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, would continue at full intensity.

The minister added that Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies will remain engaged in ongoing efforts to eliminate what he termed foreign-supported terrorism and ensure durable peace across the country.
