Pak-US trade ties improve following COAS visit to Washington: Bloomberg report

Islamabad (Web Desk): According to Bloomberg, the recent visit of Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, to the United States has led to an improvement in Pak-US trade relations, marking a positive step in economic cooperation.

The report states that the U.S. President extended an unusually warm welcome to Asim Munir at the White House, after which Pakistan recommended Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

In April, Pakistan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Trump family's World Liberty Financial, indicating a step forward in strengthening ties.

According to the Ministry of Finance, recent trade talks in Washington were positive and productive. Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb met with U.S. officials and emphasized the potential for further improving bilateral relations.

The report also mentions that Pakistan is seeking relief on tariffs imposed during trade negotiations and aims to finalize the agreement soon.
