Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirms resolve to deepening Pak-Jordan ties

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who is currently on an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, called on King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during their meeting, both leaders discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, particularly focusing on strengthening cooperation in defence and security as well as sharing views on regional developments.

The army chief conveyed warm regard from the government, people, and armed forces of Pakistan to King Abdullah II and reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to deepen its longstanding fraternal relations with Jordan.  

King Abdullah II expressed appreciation for the professionalism and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces toward promoting peace and stability in the region, and he reiterated his desire to further expand defence collaboration between the two nations.

Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was also present during the meeting.

Earlier, Field Marshal Asim Munir held a meeting with Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), at the General Headquarters in Amman.

Upon arrival, the COAS received a warm welcome and was presented with a Guard of Honour.

During the meeting, both dignitaries reaffirmed the historic and enduring relationship between the Armed Forces of Pakistan and Jordan.

Major General Al-Huneiti acknowledged the significant role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in maintaining peace and ensuring regional security.
