US halted 'project freedom' in Strait of Hormuz on Pakistan's request: Marco Rubio

Washington (Web Desk): US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has reportedly revealed that the United States has temporarily suspended its military operation “Project Freedom” in the Strait of Hormuz following a special request from Pakistan.

According to Rubio, Pakistan reached out through diplomatic channels proposing that pausing the operation could help reduce regional tensions and open space for a potential new agreement.

He said the decision was taken to allow diplomatic efforts to progress and create a more conducive environment for negotiations.
