Rawalpindi (Web Desk): The security forces killed at least four terrorists after a heavy fire exchange during an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Balochistan's Hoshab area, the military's media wing said on Wednesday.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), ISPR, the operation was initiated to clear a hideout of terrorists, linked with firing incidents on security forces and civilians besides planting of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on M-8, in general area Talsar, Hoshab.
"As a result of continuous Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) of the area, a location of the terrorists was identified and security forces were given task to take action," the statement said.
The statement by the military's media wing added that the terrorists opened fire after troops were inserted via helicopters and were establishing blocking positions to cut the escape routes.
"During ensuing heavy exchange of fire, all four terrorists were killed, while a cache of arms and ammunition including IEDs was also recovered," the ISPR said.
