Govt increases petrol price by Rs5.77, HSD by Rs6.47 per litre for August 18

Islamabad (Web Desk): The government has increased the prices of petroleum products, with the revised rates for August 18, 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division of the Ministry of Energy, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the revised petroleum pricing mechanism.

The notification stated that the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs6.47 per litre, taking it from Rs383.95 to Rs390.42 per litre.

The price of Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol, has also been raised by Rs5.77 per litre. Following the increase, petrol will now be sold at Rs331.20 per litre, up from Rs325.43.

The Ministry of Energy said the revised petroleum prices will remain effective from August 18, 2026.

The government notification added that the new prices of petrol and diesel were determined under the revised petroleum pricing mechanism.
