Lahore (Staff Report): Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (R.A.) is being observed across the country and processions are being taken out following strict security.
The martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (A.S) is observed with due solemnity on 21st of Ramazan each year.
The initial Youm-e-Ali procession started from Lahore’s Imambargah Mubarak Haveli, inside Akbari Mandi, Saturday morning which scholars will shed light on the life and martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (R.A).
The procession will end at Karbala Gamay Shah.
Around 7,000 security officers have been deployed for the security along the route of the procession. Moreover, closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras are being used for monitoring the procession.
Meanwhile in Quetta, as many as 4,000 security officers, including FC personnel, have been deployed to ensure security of Youm-e-Ali procession. The main procession will emerge from Alamdar Road.
In Karachi, the MA Jinnah Road was blocked for traffic and police was deployed on the route of the Youm-e-Ali procession. Over 5,570 police personnel and officers were deployed across the city to protect the participants of the processions and Majalis.
The Sindh government has also imposed a one-day ban on pillion riding and the use of ‘heli-cams’ for media coverage for Youm-e-Ali.
