Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s son, Junaid Safdar, has begun a new chapter in his life after tying the knot in Lahore on Saturday.
The wedding ceremony was held at a private housing society, where Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Allama Raghib Naeemi, solemnised the nikah.
The event was attended by several notable political figures including former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and other close family members.
In addition, a number of federal and provincial ministers, senior political figures and foreign diplomats were present, adding to the significance of the occasion.
The wedding celebrations formally began on Friday evening at Jati Umra, setting the tone for the festivities, while the valima reception has been scheduled for Sunday, January 18.
Junaid Safdar's bride, Shanzeh Sheikh, is the granddaughter of senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Sheikh Rohail Asghar.
