US House votes to limit Trump's power to strike Iran for 3rd time 

Washington (Web Desk): The US House of Representatives has passed a resolution for the third time calling for an end to ongoing US military operations against Iran and seeking to prevent any further military action without prior approval from Congress.

The resolution secured 220 votes in favour, while 204 lawmakers voted against it. Seven Republican members of the House joined Democrats in supporting the measure.

Under the resolution, the United States would be required to bring its ongoing military operations against Iran to an end.

It also calls for congressional authorization before any future military action against Tehran is launched.

Supporters of the resolution argued that the president cannot continue or initiate further military operations against Iran without obtaining the constitutional authorization of Congress.

They maintained that decisions involving prolonged military action should remain subject to congressional oversight.

The measure reflects continuing debate in Congress over the extent of presidential authority to conduct military operations without legislative approval.

Lawmakers supporting the resolution have stressed the constitutional role of Congress in authorizing military force and determining the scope of US involvement in overseas conflicts.

The latest vote is not the first time the House has taken such action concerning Iran. The chamber had previously approved similar resolutions on two occasions, underscoring the continuing disagreement among lawmakers over US military involvement and the requirement for congressional authorization.

The resolution's passage comes amid ongoing discussions in Washington over US policy toward Iran and the legal authority required for any further military engagement.

Its approval in the House, however, does not by itself determine US military policy, as the measure remains subject to the broader legislative and constitutional process.
