Japan, France decline naval deployment as US appeals for Strait of Hormuz security

Tokiyo/Washington (Web Desk): The US President has called on the international community for assistance in securing the Strait of Hormuz, but most countries have so far refrained from immediate action.

Japan has declined to dispatch its naval vessels, with the country’s policy chief stating that ships would only be sent if the situation in the region escalates to a critical level.

China has remained largely silent, though the Chinese embassy indicated that Beijing aims to play a constructive role by enhancing communication with the involved parties.

The US Secretary of Energy has also sought assistance from China.

The United Kingdom and South Korea have expressed intentions to review the situation, while France has already refused to deploy its naval vessels.
