Lahore (Web Desk): On the second day of the ongoing polio vaccination campaign across Punjab, health teams are continuing their efforts to administer polio drops to children by going door-to-door. This initiative is part of the government’s comprehensive strategy to eliminate polio and protect children from the crippling disease.
On the first day of the campaign, a total of over 5.2 million children across Punjab were successfully given the polio vaccine. In Lahore alone, more than 200,000 children received the vital drops. This marks an important step towards achieving the province's goal of ensuring that every child is vaccinated against the disease.
Health officials have emphasized the importance of the campaign, urging parents to cooperate with the vaccination teams to ensure the safety and health of their children. The teams are focusing on reaching remote and underserved areas to ensure no child is left unvaccinated.
The Punjab Health Department has reassured the public that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine. Authorities have also called on the public to report any issues or concerns to the health teams.
The campaign will continue for several more days, with efforts being ramped up to ensure that polio is completely eradicated in the region.
