Global investment in Indian stock market falls to 17-year low: report

New Delhi (Web Desk): Global investment in India’s stock market has dropped to its lowest level in 17 years, reflecting growing concerns among international investors over the country’s market prospects.

According to Bloomberg, foreign investors are increasingly losing interest in Indian equities, with several global companies scaling back their exposure to the market and, in some cases, reducing their investments to zero.

The report further revealed that international firms are rapidly pulling funds out of India, citing limited opportunities in the artificial intelligence sector and relatively weak returns on investments.

Meanwhile, a recent survey conducted by Bank of America further highlighted the shift in investor sentiment, showing that India has emerged as the least-preferred market in Asia among investors.

The decline in foreign investment, coupled with weakness in the Indian economy and underperformance in the stock market, has intensified concerns over the country’s broader economic outlook.
