DPM Dar reaffirms steadfast support for Lebanon's sovereignty

Lahore (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty, national unity and territorial integrity.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar, who visited him in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, DPM Dar expressed Pakistan’s willingness to further develop relations with Lebanon, with particular emphasis on cooperation between law-enforcement institutions and greater interaction between the people of both countries.

The two ministers reviewed the state of Pakistan-Lebanon relations and explored ways to enhance collaboration in the field of law enforcement.

They also welcomed the recently signed Agreement on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons, viewing it as a significant development in strengthening legal cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides also shared perspectives on regional and international matters of common interest.

The Lebanese interior minister praised Pakistan’s constructive efforts for regional peace and stability and conveyed his congratulations on the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.

Both countries reaffirmed their intention to broaden cooperation across all areas where their interests converge.
