KP halts new constructions at tourist spots to protect environment

Peshawar (Web Desk): The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has temporarily opted to halt all fresh construction projects at popular tourist spots throughout the province.

The announcement came from the KP Chief Secretary on Tuesday, who also confirmed that any construction permits or No Objection Certificates (NOCs) issued earlier are now considered void.

This measure is part of a broader effort to safeguard the natural environment and scenic charm of these destinations.

Meanwhile Provincial officials are also looking into problems related to illegal structures and substandard drainage infrastructure that have been affecting these areas.

Tourism departments in locations such as Naran, Kaghan, and other major visitor hubs have been instructed to strictly adhere to the existing master plans to ensure that any development in these regions is environmentally responsible and sustainable.
