COAS Asim, Indonesian defence minister agree to boost military cooperation

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Minister of Defence of Indonesia Lieutenant General (Retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, leading a delegation comprising representatives from various services and intelligence agencies, called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ), the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting, both sides exchanged views on bilateral defence collaboration, regional security dynamics and avenues to further strengthen military ties.

The meeting underscored the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the importance of mutual cooperation in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The Indonesian defence minister appreciated the role of Pakistan Army in fight against terrorism and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to enhancing defence relations with Pakistan.
