Islamabad (Web Desk): Google has announced that it will launch its “Ads in AI Overviews” feature in several Asia-Pacific countries, including Pakistan, later this year.
The new feature will enable businesses in Pakistan to place advertisements directly within AI-generated summary snippets in Google Search. This development is expected to offer companies fresh opportunities to connect with potential customers during their online search journey.
Currently used by over 1.5 billion people globally, AI Overviews have contributed to more than a 10 percent increase in commercial search queries. With the integration of ads into these summaries, Pakistani businesses can now engage users more effectively from the point of discovery through to decision-making.
Google’s advanced artificial intelligence analyzes both search queries and the context of AI summaries to match user intent with relevant ads. This allows advertisers to target consumers at critical moments in their search process that were previously difficult to reach.
The “Ads in AI Overviews” feature is part of Google’s wider suite of AI-driven marketing tools. These include AI Max for Search, which uses Google’s Gemini AI to generate ad headlines tailored to users’ needs; a new Google Ads workspace that leverages image and video generation tools; an AI assistant for campaign management; and a YouTube creator partnership platform to help brands collaborate with influencers for ad promotions.
Sapna Chadha, Vice President for Google Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier, stated, “As consumer behavior becomes more complex and marketing resources become limited, we are providing marketers with our most intelligent, creative, and personalized tools yet.”
The introduction of these AI-powered advertising solutions in Pakistan aims to help local businesses increase their market presence, improve user engagement, and reduce manual effort in campaign management.
