Islamabad (Web Desk/Agencies): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres.
During the conversation, the two leader exchanged views on matters of shared interest.
As Pakistan holds the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the month of July, DPM Dar reaffirmed the country’s unwavering commitment to upholding global peace and security, as well as promoting the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
He also shed light on the key events being organised by Pakistan under its UNSC Presidency, aimed at furthering these goals.
Looking ahead, the two leaders expressed eagerness to engage in person in New York next week as part of the activities associated with Pakistan’s presidency of the UNSC.
DPM Dar also reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the UN and its personnel, emphasizing the nation’s role in enabling the organization to carry out its responsibilities effectively.
