JCP confirms 6 PHC judges, extends tenure of 4 others

Islamabad (Web Desk): The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) endorsed the permanent appointment of six additional judges serving at the Peshawar High Court (PHC) and extended the tenure of four other judges by another six months.

In a meeting chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Yahya Afridi, the commission members unanimously approved the appointment and extension of the judges respectively.

The judges who have been made permanent include Justice Sadiq Ali, Justice Mudassar Amir, Justice Mohammad Tariq Afridi, Justice Abdul Fayyaz, Justice Islahuddin, and Justice Qazi Javad Ihsanullah.

The judges whose tenure has been extended are Justice Inamullah Khan, Justice Farah Jameed, Justice Sabeetullah, and Justice Aurangzeb.

Sources revealed that PTI members, Barrister Ali Zafar and Barrister Gohar, did not attend the meeting, and Aftab Alam Afridi, the Law Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was also absent.
