DPM Dar calls for implementation of Islamabad MoU in letter and spirit

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has stressed the need to implement the Islamabad understanding in accordance with its spirit and agreed text, saying dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable way forward for resolving outstanding issues.

Ishaq Dar said Pakistan had consistently advocated peace, negotiations, cooperation and mutual respect among nations. He noted that developments over the past year had once again highlighted the urgent need to resolve longstanding disputes through peaceful means.

Referring specifically to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, the deputy prime minister said the issue remained a major source of instability in the region. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people in their struggle for their legitimate rights.

Ishaq Dar also paid tribute to those confronting threats posed by Pakistan’s adversaries, both within the country and abroad. He said the nation stood united with those making sacrifices in the service of the country and remained deeply grateful for their dedication.

The foreign minister called for renewed efforts to strengthen national institutions, preserve unity and make full use of the potential of the Pakistani people.

He urged the nation to reaffirm its collective commitment to building a strong, prosperous and peaceful Pakistan for future generations, stressing that unity, responsibility and collective efforts were essential to achieving this goal.
