Italy suspends defence agreement with Israel

Rome (Web Desk): Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has announced the suspension of military cooperation with Israel.

According to media reports, the Italian Prime Minister stated that the renewal of the military agreement between Israel and Italy was approaching, but it will no longer proceed.

She said that due to the current situation, the government has decided to cancel the automatic renewal of the defense agreement with Israel.

The agreement was signed in 2016 and included cooperation in military equipment and research. It was required to be renewed every five years.

It is worth noting that this decision came after Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani visited Lebanon, where he described Israeli bombardment targeting innocent civilians as completely unacceptable.
