Washington / Tehran (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has made strong remarks regarding the escalating tensions with Iran, stating in a message posted on his social media account that the killing of Iranian government officials by the US military is “a great honor” for him.
In his statement, Trump claimed that American military operations are significantly weakening Iran’s power, adding that the country’s military infrastructure and economic strength are steadily being destroyed.
He also asserted that Iranian leadership structures are being dismantled and that those responsible for supporting what he described as destabilizing activities are being targeted.
The US president further accused Iran of being responsible for violence and the deaths of innocent people across different parts of the world over the past 47 years.
According to Trump, successive Iranian governments have supported militant activities that have threatened international peace and security.
He said that his administration is determined to hold Iran accountable and ensure that it can no longer pose a threat to global stability.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei delivered his first audio message since the recent escalation in tensions. In the message, he vowed that the deaths of Iranian citizens and military personnel would not go unanswered.
He stated that the blood of Iranian martyrs would be avenged and warned that those responsible for attacks on Iran would eventually face consequences.
Khamenei also issued a strong warning regarding the presence of US military forces in the region. He suggested that American military bases located in the Middle East could face pressure and called for their closure.
In addition, he raised the possibility of disrupting international shipping routes, warning that Iran could move to block the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz if tensions continue to escalate.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical maritime chokepoints through which a significant portion of global oil supplies pass.
Any disruption to shipping in this area could have major consequences for global energy markets and international trade.
Khamenei also rejected the claims made by U.S. officials regarding the success of their military operations.
He said Iranian forces remain capable of defending the country and insisted that the enemy is relying on misinformation and psychological warfare to create the impression of victory.
In his message, the Iranian leader emphasized national unity and urged the Iranian public to remain strong during the crisis. He said that through solidarity and resistance, Iran would ultimately overcome external pressure and defeat its adversaries.
Political analysts say the exchange of strong statements from both sides reflects the rapidly intensifying conflict and the growing risk of further escalation in the region.
Observers also warn that continued tensions between the United States and Iran could destabilize the broader Middle East and impact global security and economic stability.
