Probe ordered after female ‘drug dealer' produced in court without handcuffs and under special protocol

Karachi (Web Desk): Authorities in Karachi have taken strict notice after a video surfaced showing alleged ‘drug peddler’, Anmol alias Pinky, being brought to court without handcuffs and reportedly under special protocol.

Following the incident, Inspector General (IG) of Police Javed Alam Odho and Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan ordered immediate action against those responsible.

The controversy intensified after footage emerged showing the woman arriving at court without handcuffs and allegedly receiving special protocol. 
According to reports, Anmol Pinky had earlier been taken into custody by Karachi police. 
During detention, she reportedly appeared self-assured and allegedly told people around her that she expected to secure her release soon. Later, officials from the investigation department escorted her to court under special protocol.

Those present at the court were surprised by the relaxed manner in which the accused entered the premises. 
Wearing casual clothes, including a T-shirt and trousers, she walked freely ahead while the investigating officer followed behind and guided her through the court building.

Observers pointed out that basic security measures appeared absent, as the suspect was neither handcuffed nor surrounded by strict police protection despite facing grave accusations.

According to eyewitnesses, Pinky was also seen using a mobile phone during the hearing to remain in contact with her lawyer.

She reportedly appeared calm throughout the proceedings, smiling and engaging in casual conversations with people inside the courtroom, further fueling criticism over the treatment she received.

The incident quickly sparked outrage on social media, where many users questioned why a suspect facing such serious allegations appeared to receive unusually lenient treatment.

Police officials stated that the investigation officer and other staff members accused of negligence have been suspended with immediate effect and ordered to report to Garden Headquarters South.

A special inquiry committee headed by a senior officer has also been formed to ensure a transparent investigation and determine responsibility.

Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan emphasized that all police personnel are bound to follow official rules and procedures. He made it clear that violations of law and standard operating procedures (SOPs) would not be tolerated and warned that anyone found providing unlawful concessions to accused persons would face strict departmental action. Sindh IG Javed Alam Odho also sought an urgent report from the DIG South regarding the matter.

The accused was presented before the Judicial Magistrate South in connection with cases registered under the Sindh Narcotics Act as well as charges related to illegal possession of weapons.

During the hearing, the court rejected the police request for physical remand and instead sent the suspect to jail on judicial remand. The investigating officer was also directed to submit the case challan within 14 days.

Meanwhile, an old controversial audio clip linked to the same ‘drug peddler’ “Anmol alias Pinky” has also resurfaced on social media following her recent arrest in a narcotics-related case, sparking renewed public attention.

The purported audio, which has gone viral online once again, allegedly captures Anmol alias Pinky making shocking remarks about law enforcement agencies and openly challenging the reach of police and security authorities. In the recording, she can reportedly be heard describing herself as an untouchable “brand” in the narcotics world while mocking officials.

The conversation also allegedly includes references to drug supply operations and the delivery of a so-called “golden stock.”

In one part of the clip, the suspect is heard saying that “five, seven, even eight years pass and no one is able to catch us,” suggesting a long history of evading arrest.

Following Anmol alias Pinky’s recent detention, the re-emergence of the audio is being viewed as a significant breakthrough for law enforcement agencies.

According to sources, police are also considering the alleged recording as part of the ongoing investigation.

The sources, quoting the law enforcement authorities, said that Anmol Pinky is allegedly linked to a massive cocaine distribution network worth billions of rupees operating across the country.
