President Zardari, PM Shehbaz discuss overall political, economic and security situation


Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Thursday.

During the meeting, they reviewed the country's political, economic and security situation as well as the prevailing regional and global environment.

As per the sources, during the meeting, both the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) agreed to further strengthen their working relationship and ensure continuity in future consultations.

The two major allied parties reaffirmed their commitment to work together for the stability of the country.

Important consultations were also held regarding the election of the new President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), with discussions on potential candidates and political strategies.

In addition to national issues, global developments were also discussed. Both leaders deliberated on Pakistan’s principled stance and diplomatic efforts regarding the Gaza Peace Board and the ongoing humanitarian crisis there.

The meeting concluded with expressions of satisfaction over the country’s economic and security situation, a decision to adopt a joint strategy for internal security matters, and a renewed emphasis on strengthening cooperation between the allied parties.
