President Pezeshkian reaffirms Iran’s commitment to deepen ties with Pakistan 

Tehran (Web Desk): Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed Tehran’s readiness to further expand cooperation with Pakistan in political, economic, trade, cultural and security fields, saying stronger bilateral ties could make a meaningful contribution to regional peace and stability.

He made the remarks after meeting Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Tehran.

The Iranian president said that enhanced relations between Iran and Pakistan would not only serve the mutual interests of the two countries but could also help strengthen peace and stability across the region.

President Pezeshkian said Iran was prepared to work with Pakistan to create new avenues for joint cooperation.

He also appreciated Pakistan’s interest in deepening ties with Iran, noting that the two countries’ longstanding historical and cultural connections provided a solid foundation for expanding bilateral collaboration.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed Pakistan-Iran relations, security cooperation and the overall regional situation.

Interior Minister Naqvi also conveyed special messages to the Iranian president from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

Naqvi described Pakistan-Iran relations as strong and important, while reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to broadening cooperation between the two neighbouring countries across various areas.
