Armed resistance against Afghan Taliban intensifies as pressure mounts on multiple fronts

Kabul (Web Desk): Armed opposition to Afghanistan’s Taliban government is reportedly gaining momentum, with claims of increased activity by anti-Taliban groups across several fronts during the current year.

According to Afghan publication Hasht-e Subh, the National Resistance Front, Freedom Front and United Front claimed responsibility for a combined 73 attacks between July and September 1.

The report said several other groups opposed to the Taliban have also claimed carrying out operations in different parts of the country.

Their activities have continued to pose security challenges for the Taliban administration.

Hasht-e Subh further claimed that armed operations by anti-Taliban groups have increased during 2026, with the Taliban facing growing pressure from multiple fronts amid continued security concerns.
