PM Shehbaz orders district-level facilitation desks for Apna Ghar Scheme

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed provincial governments to set up facilitation desks at the district level under the “Apna Ghar Scheme” to help citizens obtain land-related documents more easily.

Chairing a review meeting on the housing initiative in Islamabad, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the strong public response to the programme.

He said that if the current pace of progress continues, the dream of home ownership for a large number of families will soon become a reality.

Shehbaz Sharif noted that the success of the scheme would boost the construction sector, strengthen allied industries, and contribute to overall economic growth.

He directed the concerned authorities to further improve facilitation for applicants and make the process more citizen-friendly.

The Prime Minister also asked the Ministry of Housing to coordinate with the State Bank of Pakistan to simplify the application form for better understanding.

He instructed banks to accelerate the approval process for eligible applications and ensure timely processing.

He further ordered an intensified nationwide awareness campaign to promote the housing initiative.

During the meeting, officials informed that loans worth over Rs11 billion have so far been disbursed under the scheme.

A total of 67,900 applications have been received from across the country, out of which 16,587 have been approved, while 3,146 applicants have already received loans.

It was also shared that the State Bank of Pakistan has made it mandatory for banks to process applications within 15 days.
