DPM Dar, Turkiye FM Fidan discuss regional developments

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar spoke by phone with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

During the conversation, the two sides exchanged views on Pakistan-Turkiye relations and important regional developments of mutual interests.

The conversation also focused on the situation in Palestine, with both sides reaffirming their aligned stance on the issue.

They backed a joint declaration issued by eight Arab and Islamic nations following the United Kingdom’s (UK) decision to prohibit imports from illegal Israeli settlements and place restrictions on services associated with those settlements.

Pakistan and Turkiye further endorsed a joint declaration issued by the UK and other European nations in support of advancing the two-state solution for resolving the Palestine conflict.

DPM Dar and FM Fidan underlined the importance of continued coordination over regional developments, including through the Regional Four (R4) consultation mechanism involving Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

The two leaders agreed to meet on the sidelines of the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York.
