Lahore (Web Desk): The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) resumed its long march to Islamabad on Thursday Wazirabad .
A large number of the party supporters gathered at the site where former premier Imran Khan was injured in a gun attack on November 3.
Flanked by senior party leaders, PTI Vice Chairman and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi announced to resume the march.
The party leaders who joined Qureshi included, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry Hammad Azhar, Faisal Javed, among others.
Addressing the gathering Shah Mahmood said , said that despite an assassination attempt, PTI didn’t bow or give up on its struggle for freedom.
He said that party chairman Imran Khan would soon join his supporters in the long march to Islamabad.
Speaking on the occasion, PTI's Secretary General Asad Umar said that no one could scare Imran Khan or his followers.
“Exactly a week from today, an attempt was made to take Imran Khan’s life […] but let me tell you today, it was not an attempt to take one man’s life, it was an attempt to silence the nation’s voice.”
Earlier, sharing the further plan on Twitter, former minister and PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that Imran Khan will address party supporters at 4:30pm via a video link.
He said that the march will be at its starting point at 3pm and will begin from the same place where their chairman was attacked.

On November 7, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi had announced that the party will resume its long march from Wazirabad on Thursday (November 10).
He said this while speaking to workers at Imran Khan's residence in Lahore's Zaman Park.
This was the third time that the PTI has changed the date of the long march.
Earlier, it was announced that the march will be resumed on Tuesday, November 8 but later the date was changed to Wednesday, November 9.
In a tweet, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry had announced that the party’s long march to Islamabad will resume from Wednesday at 2pm from Wazirabad.
PTI's Azadi March” halted on November 3 in Wazirabad after Imran Khan and several party members were injured while a party activist was killed in firing incident at former premier's container.
PTI Senator Faisal Javed, party leaders Umar Dar and Ahmed Chattah, were also among the people injured in the incident while a citizen, identified as 42-year-old Moazzam, died on the spot.
