Ready to give a befitting response to Indian aggression: Field Marshal Asim Munir

Washington (Web Desk): During his visit to the United States, Chief of Army Staff and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir delivered a significant address to the Pakistani community, where he spoke candidly about national security, regional dynamics, the role of overseas Pakistanis, and India’s controversial policies.

Field Marshal Munir emphasized that overseas Pakistanis are not just skilled professionals but a living reflection of Pakistan’s dignity and honor. "Overseas Pakistanis are not a brain drain, but a brain gain, actively contributing to the country’s development," he stated.

Expressing strong concerns over India’s double standards, he said, "India wants to present itself as a ‘Vishwaguru’ (world leader), but the reality is far from it."

He highlighted India’s cross-border terrorism, particularly pointing to incidents such as the killing of a Sikh leader in Canada, the sentencing of Indian Navy officers in Qatar, and the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav—saying these expose the real face of India and its intelligence agency RAW.

Field Marshal Munir stated that Pakistan has successfully countered India’s discriminatory and dangerous policies through diplomatic means and will continue to raise its voice effectively on international platforms.

He clarified that the issue of Occupied Kashmir is not an internal matter of India, but a disputed issue recognized by the United Nations. "As Quaid-e-Azam said, Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein. Pakistan will continue to fully support the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people."

Commenting on recent Indian aggression, he said: "This unprovoked hostility, under shameful pretexts, not only took innocent Pakistani lives but also pushed the entire region to the brink of war."

He acknowledged the strategic leadership of former U.S. President Donald Trump, crediting his efforts for de-escalating tensions and preventing a possible war between India and Pakistan.

Speaking on Pakistan’s role in the fight against terrorism, Field Marshal Munir remarked, "Pakistan stands as the last barrier against terrorism. There will be no leniency for enemies—they will be brought to justice."

He raised concern over the misuse of social media, warning that hostile forces are exploiting it to spread chaos and disinformation.

Quoting a verse from the Holy Quran, he said: “O you who believe! If a wrongdoer brings you news, verify it carefully, lest you harm people in ignorance and afterwards become regretful.”

He also spoke of ongoing economic cooperation agreements with countries like the U.S., China, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, stating these would bring positive economic change in Pakistan. He emphasized that the youth of Pakistan are full of potential and will play a key role in building the nation—adding that the nation is proud of them.
