Islamabad (Web Desk): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday honoured Nurse Razia Noreen for her courageous response during the recent fire that broke out in the nursery of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
For her efforts in rescuing a baby during the incident, she was awarded Rs100,000 in cash along with a special shield.
The recognition ceremony took place at the Governor House in Islamabad, where Minority Leader Samuel Pyara and PIMS Deputy Chief Nursing Shazia were also in attendance.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kundi said nursing was a profession deeply connected with compassion, care and service to humanity.
He praised Razia Noreen for remaining brave and committed in the face of the tragic incident, adding that her actions deserved to be publicly acknowledged and appreciated.
“The entire Pakistani nation pays tribute to Nurse Razia for her exemplary role,” he said.
The governor added that the nurse’s courage and strong sense of duty represented the true values of humanity and demonstrated the dedication and professionalism expected from members of the nursing profession.
