President Zardari felicitates Russian leadership on Victory Day

Islamabad (Web Desk): Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday conveyed congratulations to Vladimir Putin and the people of Russia on the occasion of Victory Day.

According to a statement issued by the President Secretariat Media Wing, the president, in a message sent on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, said that the victory in the Great Patriotic War remains a lasting symbol of the tremendous sacrifices rendered by the Russian nation in defending its homeland and fighting fascism globally.

President Zardari stated that the historic success reflected the resilience, bravery and unwavering resolve of the Russian people, while also highlighting Russia’s continued role in promoting international peace, security and stability.

He added that Pakistan highly values its ties with the Russian Federation and remains committed to strengthening cooperation for a fair, peaceful and rules-based international system.

The president expressed hope that the spirit of the historic victory would further deepen friendship, understanding and collaboration between the two nations.

President Zardari also honoured the memory of those who lost their lives in the battle against Nazism, including soldiers from the Indus Valley region who fought alongside the Allied Forces.
