India using terrorism as state policy to destabilise Pakistan: DG ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has strongly condemned India's alleged involvement in terrorist activities inside Pakistan, accusing it of orchestrating an "organized conspiracy" to destabilise the country, particularly the province of Balochistan.

In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera TV, the DG ISPR stated that India had adopted state-sponsored terrorism as a deliberate policy against Pakistan. The remarks followed a deadly bomb blast in Waziristan last month, in which 16 Pakistani soldiers were martyred and over 20 others injured.

The attack was claimed by Fitna al-Khawarij, a group associated with the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif declared that India was directly involved in such terrorist attacks, asserting that New Delhi was not only providing material support but also financing terrorism on Pakistani soil.

“India is not only supporting but also financing terrorist activities in Pakistan,” he said, emphasizing that these actions pose a direct threat to regional peace and security.

He elaborated on the term Khawarij, describing it as an extremist ideology historically used to justify violence under the false pretense of religion. The current militant threat, he said, was a continuation of this ideology, with Fitna al-Khawarij falsely using Islamic justification to attack the Pakistani state and its armed forces.

“In Islam, the right to Jihad or armed conflict lies solely with the state — no individual, organization, or group is authorized to declare it,” he added, stressing that these militants had “no connection with Islam, humanity, Pakistan, or Pakistani traditions.”

The general also introduced the term Fitna al-Hindustan, used within Pakistan to denote India-backed terrorist elements, whom he claimed were particularly active in Balochistan, a province long marred by insurgency and unrest.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif accused Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval of being the "mastermind" behind this alleged network of state-sponsored terrorism. He further claimed that even countries like the United States and Canada have acknowledged India's involvement in targeted killings and extraterritorial operations.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s support for Iran, he condemned Israeli aggression and expressed solidarity with Tehran. On the national defense front, he reaffirmed that Pakistan's nuclear program remains secure and fully capable of deterring any aggression.

“Our nuclear capability is invincible and no one can dare to target our nuclear program,” he stated.
