Islamabad (Web Desk): Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf commemorated Navy Day by honouring the personnel of the Pakistan Navy who sacrificed their lives in the service of the country at a ceremony held at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad.

During the event, Admiral Naveed Ashraf laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument and prayed for the departed souls of the martyrs.

Pakistan Navy personnel, including officers, chief petty officers, sailors and civilian employees, attended the ceremony along with families of the martyrs.

The naval chief later met with the families of the Shuhada.

In his message issued on the occasion, Admiral Naveed Ashraf remembered the Navy’s martyrs and Ghazis, acknowledging their bravery and sacrifices in preserving Pakistan’s sovereignty and protecting its maritime interests.

The Naval Chief said the Pakistan Navy had built itself into a strong and capable maritime combat force by fostering professional competence, firm resolve and a deep commitment to sacrifice.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf added that the Navy was undertaking continuous modernisation of its platforms while introducing changing operational strategies to remain capable of dealing with emerging threats and challenges.

He stressed that constant operational readiness, along with professional expertise, was essential to maintaining an effective maritime defence of the country.
